gazelle, gazette, galette

I had another little cooking project a few nights ago, and when I told my roommate what I was making, she commented: "Whenever I hear 'galette,' I think 'gazelle.'" Which made me think "gazette"...

So, just to illustrate the options at our disposal, I found a few pictures of these...and I'll leave it to you to guess what I made in the kitchen Sunday evening.

(Hard to say...but as a final hint: the finished product could be identified by a garlicky aroma and a flaky, varnished crust. And I don't own a printing press.)
