Tonight, the moon neighbored the earth. It knelt low and rested there. Like tarnished silver, softly shadowed, it hung. It waited for a time, and watched. It listened to the music of an ordinary evening. And silently, as evening drew on, it retreated-- once again into the rafters, a spotlight raised upon the play in progress below.
A full day has passed, pregnant with a breathless pause. Moment has reclaimed her weight; Instant has broken open. Both are beyond our grasp. Both are held by bigger hands. I am grateful.
